Aziz Ogan, who served as as the director of İzmir Archeology Museum between 1918-1931 and İstanbul Archeology Museum between 1931-1954 played a crucial role in the development of these museums and made invaluable contributions to the field of archeology. Through the museum guides he prepared and the reports he published in this field as well as the “Annual of Istanbul Archeology Museum” which started to be published in 1934 at various intervals, Ogan maintained an international recognition for museum studies and archeology in Turkey. This collection, donated to Boğaziçi University by Hüseyin İnan, includes the official correspondences of Aziz Ogan with the Ministry of Education about the development of museums, working notes on Ephesus-Ayasoluk and Pergamum, excavation reports on Ephesus, Pergamum and Didim, correspondences about the foundation of İzmir Archeology Museum, writings on various Anatolian Monuments, and many photographs and glass negatives. The first drafts of the museum guide of the Hagia Sophia and the correspondences with German Archeology Museum officials are also parts of the collection.
